of a freakishly small world

It’s been such a crazily busy month or so, what with birthday parties, social gatherings, etc, etc. It’s enough to make one so lazy to update her blog. *makes a face* hehe

Beer Monster had finally convinced me to do Peer Networking… the two training days that were provided was kind of fun, but didn’t really prepare me for the impact of orientation week… and the hundreds of lost and stressed out international students (some of which I couldn’t understand due to their thick accents) asking questions that I had no answer to.

Tomorrow will be my third day doing PN, it will also be the night of the cocktail party (dinner provided so you don’t get too trashed too quickly, although I guess this could be optional for those hardcore drinkers *not looking at BM*) and the pub crawl. I have a feeling I won’t be able to survive the night unless I drink half of my alcoholic beverage at each venue… and a weak one at that! hehe

Sometimes the world seem so vast and there’s so many people that are strangers to us… and yet at the same time, it is also strangely and a bit freakishly small.

Last Friday, I went to a birthday party of Carrotz, a friend of BM from PN. She was ever so nice as to invite me to her 21st. I got there with a slight feeling of trepidation as I knew I would only know a couple of people there and not very well either (I think I’m socially inept at times -_-), I was all ready to have a quiet night on one of those comfy looking couches in the corner, nursing a drink whilst I people-watch. So it was quite a huuuuge surprise to find out that one of Carrotz’s friends is my 2nd cousin, Minh, who I haven’t seen for years and years. Anyways, we chatted all night long (alright, until the Hotel CBD people kicked us out at 12ish) about her trip, my trip, jobs, bfs, relationships, books, how shitty public transport is in comparison to other countries… I personally didn’t think it was such a big deal, but BM told me after that some of the people he knew teased him about me getting it on with another chick (or something like that) and wasted no time teasing me for the rest of the weekend of being so chatty and to one person as well. The ride home didn’t help my case either… I was stuck in a talkative rut and I seriously couldn’t stop blabbering about whatever popped into my head. Felt so sorry for Duesta to put up with it, but I’m glad that he tuned out rather quickly. I’d hate to be annoying. I’d hate to be annoying, but people are too nice to say that I am. -_- People! I can take it, I’m a big gurl =P I think I accidently spat at her throughout the night -_- I’m not too sure.. I hope not. Icky.

Another case of it being a small world is meeting a chick from PN and finding out that her brother is best friends with a friend of the friend who use to go out with a friend of mine. Hmm… maybe I should have used names instead. S*hrugs* oh wells. I’m too lazy to go back now and change it. heheh

I think I’ll stop here cuz I think I’m starting to ramble more than usual -_-

oh, btw. I’m making a list of the people I’ve mentioned in my blogs with all their nicknames, though confidentiality is ensured for those who don’t want their names mentioned… (okay I made that up, I just like to use nicknames for people =P) It’ll be on the sidebar below my current and previous readings.

Definitely one of those feel-good movies. Love Sandra Bollock!
