of mostly eating
As it has been of late, Friday brings with it a sense of laziness that I suspect borders on hermit-like behaviour.
Minh, however, lured me out with food, where we dined on yummy ramen at Ramen-kan and lingered over our Lindt cakes, savouring their rich flavours.
By the time Ram joined us, it was drizzling. He caught the look Minh and I shared and exclaimed, “No! Don’t be slack, you guys gotta go to Sath’s farewell!” Damn it.
Thwarted by our conscience (and Ram), we bussed to the Rocks and walked in the rain to Uber Bar. Meh.
Suzie had left her ID at home, but Addy managed to transfer her wrist stamp to Suzie and she was in. Unfortunately though, one of the bouncers spied Suzie in the crowd and called her out, where some of the guys waited outside with her.
I met up with Gary on Saturday at Australian Museum (after a momentary lapse of forgetfulness of where it was) to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2007 and Face-to-Face; both of which were pretty interesting.
There were a lot more Nikons this year amongst the younger competitors, while Canons were more prevalent among the elders. There was one photo taken by a Hasselblad, another from an Arca Swiss, and a couple of Fujifilm camera. Surprisingly, there were a couple of entries from point and shoots (in the younger categories anyways).
Some people have amazing talent in composing the photos – an eye for detail and what works – though there were a couple of photos where Gary and I were like… hmmm, I don’t get why they got picked as being highly commended.
We both were feeling peckish and for sushi, so we ambled our way to Sushi Roll in World Square. We were only going for a couple of plates, but somehow we ended up with about 15. >_< They were so yummy, I couldn't stop eating! Gary had to impose a dish limit and I managed to sneak another in. Muhahahah.
We still had some time left to kill before going to meet up with Minh, Suzie, and Tim for mud crab at Yummy, so we crossed to an opposite cafe and chatted over some hot beverages.
Before I knew it, I was kinda running late to go to Minh's place. >_<
Arriving at Yummy, we poked fun at its Las Vegas style setting (next to a cheesy, palm tree-decorated motel), neon lights and all, and the interior didn’t quite impress us much.
The food, however, was pretty good. Crabs were gigantic!!! Minh’s typing the review up for all the stuff we ate – shall link when she’s finished with that.

Afterwards, we went to Concord for ice cream and hired Vacancy, 28 Weeks Later, and Die Hard 4.0 in Blu-Ray format. Tim’s got a whole Blu-Ray home system set up – pretty sweet! – only I realised that Blu-Ray is only as good as the medium that the movie’s filmed on.
Sunday was kind of a day out with mum. We had lunch, then went to get a facial. Man those things are expensive!! =_= So girly too, but if it helps to stop her go on a complaining rant that I’m not taking care of my skin, I guess it must be done. *sighs*
